Libby Soderholm
Chairperson
Libby Soderholm is a Non-Executive Director, Consultant and Sports Physiotherapist. A graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, she has a diploma in business management and is passionate about good clinical governance, risk management and strategy.
She is the Australian representative for the International Private Physical Therapy Association (IPPTA), a subgroup of WCPT, and is vice-chair with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia on their registrations and notifications Committee. She is involved in advisory and Steering committees with the Australian Physiotherapy Association. For many years she was Managing Director of 2 multidisciplinary Clinics in Western Australia.
In 2001 she was the proud recipient of the Kim Beasley “Service to the Community” Award, and also worked at the Sydney Olympics in 2000 as a Sports Physiotherapist.
Janet Cooper
Deputy Chair
Janet Cooper joined the SCHCS Board of Directors in 2004. Janet has held the following positions during this time: Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson, Treasurer, Secretary.
Janet is totally committed to SCHCS and has provided tremendous support during her time on the Board.
Janet is an experienced HR Consultant and has run her own HR Consultancy, All 4 People since 2006. Focusing on advising the business on all aspects of people management from strategic workforce planning, recruitment, training, performance, contracts and policies, conflict resolution, pain-free exits etc. Janet is also a registered migration agent providing advice and assistance on business, work, family, student and other visa requirements. As a result of this Janet has brought vast knowledge and experience to the SCHCS Board.
Jonathan Seth
Treasurer
Jonathan joined the Board in 2023
Jonathan is a highly qualified and experienced business executive, with over 30 years’ experience at CEO, Senior Executive and Director level.
He is stepping back from his full-time role as CEO of LGIS (WA local government discretionary mutual). He has previously held Senior Executive and Director roles with major risk management consulting and financial services organisations including Marsh / JLT (17 years), AIG (3 years) and Aon (20 years).
Jonathan’s professional and director roles have focused on risk, strategy and governance in the member based Mutual, not for profit or for purpose organisations across larger and small groups including Government (Local, State and Federal), sporting, aged care, health and similar community or charity organisations. These have included St Vincent’s, Activ Foundation, Peel Health Campus, St John Ambulance and Amana Living.
He is a Non-Executive Director of the Royal Life Saving (RLS) WA and South Coastal Health & Community Services, and formally sat on the ANZIIF Board and Chair of the academic council. He also serves as a member of the Finance and Audit Committee at RLS.
Lesley Bell
Secretary
Lesley joined the Board in 2022
Lesley is an environmental microbiologist who has had a varied career in medical and industrial laboratories, education and finance. As a mature aged student Lesley completed a B.A. in Indigenous Knowledge, History and Heritage and is passionate about being an ally for First Nations peoples. She was drawn to South Coastal by the services provided by Babbingur Mia, and its support for families and communities.
Prior to joining the board Lesley was with PathWest’s Environmental Microbiology Unit ensuring the microbiological safety of food and water in Western Australia and its offshore territories. Lesley currently works in Kwinana inspecting grain shipments destined for Japan, and brings to the board expertise in quality, compliance and documentation.
Baily Fernandez
Board Member
Baily joined the board in 2022.
Baily is a Certified Practicing Accountant and a Certified Global Management Accountant with a passion towards Community Services, Aged Care and the Disability Services Sector. Baily has held Senior Management and Executive level roles at notable Not For Profit organisations bringing a right balance of commercialisation into the community services sector.
Helen Brown
Board Member
Helen joined the board in 2022.
She is a consultant pharmacist with 25 years experience conducting Home Medicines Reviews: a GP initiated visit by a pharmacist to improve medication management. She has also worked with NPS MedicineWise for 17 years as a GP educator about safe use of medicines and medical testing.
Helen brings to the Board her clinical expertise on medicines but also has skills in motivational interviewing, adult learning concepts and behavioural change theories.
Rita McIlduff
Board Member
Rita joined the board in 2022
As Registered Nurse for more than 25 years, Rita has specialised in clinical safety, quality and clinical governance for over 10 years. She holds post graduate in Heath Leadership.
Rita was part of the commissioning team at Fiona Stanley hospital and has held senior leadership positions in acute tertiary hospitals. Her current role as the Regional Quality Advisor for Opal Healthcare supports aged care leaders to achieve operational excellence and robust clinical governance.
Christine Baker
Board Member
Christine joined the board in 2022
Christine is an experienced director with previous leadership roles in the allied health and not-for-profit sectors. In 2014 she completed a master’s degree in Business Leadership.
She has a passion for making a difference, especially around empowering marginalised women and their families. South Coastal Health & Community Services vision of strong women, strong families, stronger communities drew Christine to a director’s position on the board where she hopes to assist the organisation in achieving their goals.
Gill Walker
CEO
Gill is passionate about the delivery of high-quality services co-designed with the person at the centre and committed to incorporating improvement, innovation and research to enhance activity and impact. Gill has over 20 years’ experience at a senior level in public, private and not-for-profit health care organisations. She has a background in Nursing, holds a Master’s degree in Public Health and a Professional Doctorate in Health and Social Sciences.
