
Mental Health Counselling
We offer a range of mental health services in the areas of:
The purpose of this initiative is to improve access to treatment and management of mental illness within the community. Under this initiative, Medicare benefits are available to eligible patients for selected mental health services. A small gap payment may be applicable and Medicare rebates are limited to 10 sessions per calendar year. Individuals will require a Mental Health Treatment Plan from their GP.
South Coastal Mental Health Clinicians can assist adults and children with a diagnosed mental health condition such as:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Adjustment disorder
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Phobia
- Panic disorder
- Sleep problems
- Somatic complaints
- Conduct disorder
- Attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder
- Sexual disorders (eg sexual wellbeing, pain/anxiety, arousal)
Treatment will be determined by the clinician and involve the use of evidence-based strategies to assist you with your specific concerns.

Individual Counselling
Our Emotional Health and Wellbeing (EHW) Counselling Service provides supportive, individual counselling, mainly for women (aged 12+) who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health concerns that may be impacting on their daily life. This program will assist in addressing emotional, psychological, and social needs, building resilience and developing skills in a safe and respectful environment.
Our service is trauma‑informed, inclusive, and culturally responsive, ensuring care is respectful of diverse cultural identities, values, and experiences.
What to do next
We encourage clients to speak with their GP or health professional about their mental health concerns and request a referral to access this program. Referrers can complete our online form here.
Group Therapy

Individual Counselling
Our Family and Domestic Violence Counselling and Advocacy Services offer safe, respectful support for victim-survivors (including children, aged 6+) experiencing or at risk of experiencing family and domestic violence. We work alongside individuals to promote healing, strengthen wellbeing, and support safer futures.
Through counselling and advocacy, we help the client to improve personal safety and explore practical options to protect their ongoing and future wellbeing. Our services aim to reduce the impact of trauma, supporting improved emotional and physical health, and assisting individuals to express their thoughts and feelings in constructive, empowering ways.
Clients are supported to better understand the resources, services, and community supports available to them. By strengthening social connections and support networks, we help individuals and families regain confidence, choice, and a greater sense of control over their lives. Our approach is trauma‑informed, inclusive, and focused on resilience, recovery, and hope.

Individual Counselling
Perinatal Mental Health Counselling (PMH) provides one‑to‑one counselling, and where appropriate, couple counselling, offering evidence‑based clinical interventions to assess, treat, and support the mental health and wellbeing of people who are at risk of, or experiencing, perinatal mental health concerns. The service can support parents during pregnancy, throughout the postnatal period (up to three years), and those who have experienced miscarriage or other forms of pregnancy or infant loss.
PMH also offers education, guidance, and emotional support to help families build strength, adapt to new roles, and navigate the challenges and changes associated with pregnancy, birth, early parenting, and diverse perinatal experiences, promoting confidence, connection, and resilience.

Group Therapy
The PMH support group explores the challenges of parenthood, self-esteem, identity, coping strategies, stress, relaxation techniques over 8 weeks (School Term).
